15th International Congress on Neutron Capture Therapy

The 15th International Congress on Neutron Capture Therapy took place in Tsukuba, Japan on September 10-14th, 2012. It was organized by the University of Tsukuba with the support of the International Society for Neutron Capture Therapy and attended by over three hundred scientists from Japan, USA, China, Great Britain, Russia and other countries. The scientists of Martinex Research Centre and president of Martinex Mikhail Selyanin went to Japan to attend the congress.

Neutron capture therapy is a crossdisciplinary endeavor that needs specialists from different backgrounds to come together in order to make progress in this field. Every year the congress sets out to bridge the gap between different disciplines and let physicists, chemists, biologists and doctors to hear each other's ideas and findings at one event.

Martinex Research Centre was one of the presenters in the "Biology" section of the congress together with Medico-radiological Science Centre of Russian Ministry of Health. They presented the results of their research concerning the dispersion of boron-containing compounds based on hyaluronic acid in the organisms of mice with melanoma (S.E. Ulyanenko et al.) and the evaluation regulatory mechanisms of their penetration into tumors and surrounding tissues (S.N. Koryakin et al.)
